For me, a "calm night" is made of a few essential ingredients that start long before I hit the pillow:

Conscious Nutrition: I focus on protein-rich, low-gluten foods and avoid sugar. I’ve found that warm dishes are more grounding than cold ones, and I always finish with lavender tea.

Intentional Movement: The "10k steps" rule really does work! I complement this with Pilates or Yoga to focus on my breathing—specifically, ensuring my exhales are longer than my inhales to signal my nervous system to unwind.

Human Connection: We are social beings. Whether it’s a dinner with friends or simply a quick chat with my local barista, that sense of connection is vital for my mental well-being.

The Digital Detox: This made the biggest difference. I put my phone away two hours before bed. Any WhatsApp messages or emails can wait until the next morning.

Mental Clarity: To stop the "overthinking" cycle, I finish my tasks two hours before bed. Anything left over goes into a physical checklist or journal. Writing down decisions as "to-do" points helps clear the chaos from my mind.

The Bedtime Ritual: I created a routine that signals to my body it’s time to let go. I drink my tea, follow my skincare regimen, and mist the room with lavender. The final, most important step? Slipping into my con calma sustainable cotton pyjamas. Following this with a 10-minute guided meditation makes sleep feel like a luxury I look forward to.
